Group of Private Practice Orthopedic Specialists to Offer Innovative Concierge Surgical Care

(ORLANDO, April 25, 2024) — Drs. Ron Hudanich, Robert Meuret and Brian Vickaryous with the Greater Orlando Orthopedic Gro up have partnered with Dr. Max B. Medary of Greater Orlando Neurosurgery and Spine to form the Advanced Joint and Spine Institute (AJSI). The premier location is one of Florida’s newest outpatient orthopedic and spine centers, combining advanced medical innovation with the traditional touch of private practice medicine.

These advanced orthopedic specialists have invested in and created AJSI in hopes to fill a dramatic need for value based musculoskeletal care (MSK) in the region. Studies show Florida hospital bills rank among the highest
in the nation. Additionally, MSK surgeries top the list as the most expensive. These orthopedic specialists have come together to help make premier MSK healthcare more affordable and convenient for patients in the Orlando area. They are highly trained and specialized in both upper and lower extremity care including shoulder, hand, elbow, foot, knee, hip, spine, and joint replacement surgeries.

“Some patients are surprised to learn that most orthopedic surgeries can be done on an outpatient basis and are three times less expensive than a hospital stay,” says Dr. Vickaryous. “Also, research studies have shown patients recover better at home and are happier when able to check out sooner following a procedure. We are excited to offer these services to our patients.”

The new facility located at 7974 Lake Underhill Rd., in Orlando will start seeing patients in June 2024. The 20,000 square foot facility boasts five state-of-the art operating suites, private pre- and post-op rooms, and a first-floor suite of exam rooms.

Additionally, the facility is home to a Stryker® Mako™ Robotic Arm Assisted Surgery System. One of the few in the area, it will help facilitate robotic total hip and partial/total knee surgeries including Dr. Hudanich’s proprietary Hudanich Orthopedics® 3-in-1 Non-Muscle Cutting, Tourniquet-Less, Robotic Knee Replacement Surgery®. Dr. Hudanich, an expert in robotic procedures, will also be training other area surgeons on the robotic hip and knee procedures at the facility.

“The surgery center is new to the area, but we aren’t,” says Dr.Meuret. “We look forward to serving the Lake Underhill area again.” Drs. Meuret and Vickaryous treated orthopedic trauma and joint replacement patients in the east Orlando area from 2008-2021 when they were with Advent Health.

Both Greater Orlando Orthopedic Group’s Lake Mary and Oviedo locations will remain open. As will Dr. Medary’s Lake Nona and Stonerock Circle locations.
